THE SLOVEN AND THE ACCOMPLISHED DUMB-ASS

There are certain things in life that a self-respecting human being ought to rise above, and one of those happens to be  brazenly defending the blatantly indefensible. I say this because of a certain Doyin Okupe, the so-called Presidential Adviser on Public Affairs. He has not disappointed in proving beyond reasonable doubt that he is a sloven and an accomplished dumb-ass. It seems as he advances in years his intellectual capacity and capability diminish. Who does he actually think he is to lecture Nigerians on the virtues and accomplishments of a confused, compromised and discredited President? How does he sleep at night knowing that he has become one of the most reviled members of this government? Ok, he gets paid to spew rubbish on behalf of his paymasters but does he really think he is what he thinks he is? I read through his garbage of a piece espousing the risible performance of Jonathan and I felt nothing but contempt and outrage. How such a discreditable and discredited non-person came to be a Presidential adviser is beyond reason. Says a lot about Mr. President who thought that employing such a scamp would do him a world of good. This simpleton of a man telling Nigerians and the wider world that terrorism has been beaten; boasting of the improvement in the supply of power and the increased spending on infrastructural projects; informing us that the economy is improving at breakneck speed. He is either blind and/or cruelly indifferent to the plight of the vast majority of Nigerians. Could someone please ask this political journeyman to attempt to live on less than N200 a day; or maybe someone could ask him to send his children not to school but put on their heads buckets of pure water sachets and ply the streets in order that they may eat. Maybe he should even try to be an Okada rider for a day!
When buffoons like him tell us the good times are here and better future awaits us, it irks rather than soothes. He conveniently forgot the corruption he and his ilk revel in. He didn't think it important to talk about burning issues of those in power getting away with murder, neither did he think it relevant to highlight the daily misappropriation of billions of Naira by the corrupt political elite that is actually 'killing' Nigerians. What has the EFCC become? Hasn't the ICPC become a sick joke? What are we doing about all the corruption cases in various courts all over the place? Aren't all the indicted corrupt idiots still enjoying the spoils of their spoliation? Aren't they all laughing at us and gearing themselves up for more rampage in the very near future?  Mr. Doofus' reticence on those issues is true to form. Maybe he needs to be reminded that rather than make his master look good, he's doing a remarkably efficient job at exposing his weaknesses and his unsure mien. My kind advice to this recreant of a man is to shut up and fade away into a well-deserved obscurity. Nigerians know where they are and where they want to be. We can assess and we will decide. It's only a matter of time.
